There is much to celebrate in London at the moment. As well as designers hosting their latest catwalk shows for fashion editors and tastemakers, the 76th British Film Academy has its own event for those in Hollywood. On February 19, stars descended on the Southbank Center for the glitzy night celebrating actors, directors, producers, technicians and more. As everyone made their way down the red carpet, you’ll see that the fashion looks at the 2023 BAFTAs were bright and surprisingly colorful.
Viola Davis, who is nominated for Best Actress for The Female King, stunned in a custom glittery purple dress by Stella McCartney. Meanwhile, Florence Pugh brought the drama in an orange pleated tulle and skirt set from Nina Ricci. It was designed by the label’s Creative Director, Harris Reid, who had just shown his own namesake label at London Fashion Week and had Pugh open his show. Elsewhere, actresses like Sophie Turner and Ana de Armas added their own personal style and elegance to the red carpet through looks from Louis Vuitton. (Zoom in on Turner’s look in particular—the combination of decorations was so unexpected and cool.)
