Ben Whishaw gives a disappointing update on Paddington 3

Just a few years ago, everything seemed fine in the Paddington world.

The third film released its title and it looked like we were going to get more coat-wearing teddy bear content at any moment.

But, we cannot ignore the fact that Paddington in Peru is not in cinemas, not even in production. And Ben Whishaw (the voice behind the bear) gave a pretty heartbreaking update: it looks like we might be waiting much, much longer than we expected for the threequel… if it ever comes.

Whishaw has firmly and gently broken the news that things aren’t quite as on-going as we thought, saying (via Accelerator) “I haven’t read this script and I don’t even know when we’re going to shoot it. I do not know. I thought it would have happened by now, but I don’t know. He has gone quiet in the way these things sometimes do.

“Maybe that just means they’re still working on it, or maybe it means it’s not happening, or you just don’t know.”

So Whishaw seems pretty unsure about his situation Paddington 3 right now, but it’s worth staying positive.

Almost established as one of the greatest films of all time, Paddington 2 reached 100% on Rotten Tomatoes before a non-believer lowered the score by a fraction. So, it’s unlikely that such a beloved franchise would be cut short at this point.

And all the key players are on board for the next episode, with production, direction and some cast confirmed.

A membrane is very similar to a jam sandwich. it takes time to create perfection. Let us trust it only when Paddington 3 enough, it will be more than worth the wait.

In the meantime, Ben Whishaw fans can watch his new film Passeswhich has also secured a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating (he seems to have a knack for it.)
