Coronation Street spoilers – Steven plots after being caught

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street Murderer Stephen Reid is desperate to fight back tonight (February 27) after he was accused of plotting against Carla Barlow.

Steven has recently taken charge of the factory along with his niece Sarah, stepping into Carla’s shoes while she takes time off work.

Carla took a break from the factory when she feared her psychosis was returning. In fact, Carla only gets in trouble because Steven spikes her drinks with LSD.

In Monday’s episode, Steven takes things a step further as he looks for a way to keep Carla out of the picture for longer.

With Carla wanting to get back to work sooner rather than later, Steven gathers the factory staff for an important meeting.

Having discovered that many of the Underworld workers are also shareholders, Steven proposes to use their influence by holding a vote of no confidence.

Stephen argues that Carla needs more time to recover and is not fit to run the factory.

Faye Windass feels differently, sneaking out her phone to let Carla know what’s going on.

Later, Carla returns to work and calls Steven into her office, where she angrily confronts him for trying to drive her out of the business.

Unprepared to give up on his ambitions, Steven makes a sneaky phone call and tells his mysterious contact that he needs an urgent meeting. What is Stephen doing now?

Todd Boyce, who plays Stephen, recently commented: “[Carla] he is a very popular character. So far [Stephen] has targeted people who are relatively new characters that people haven’t really met, but this is different.

“Chris Gascoigne [who plays Carla’s husband Peter] he was so great about it, he said, “Oh man, you have no idea what you’re in for when this starts.”

“Ali [King] and I had some great scenes together, really steamy scenes and I enjoyed that and I think people enjoyed facing him, so they’re going to hate it when the tables are turned.”

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and broadcast on ITVX.
