Destiny 2 it’s about to get a lot better. Bungie has announced a number of changes coming to the loot shooter over the next few expansions and seasons. The studio plans to make the content more difficult starting at launch Lightfall later this monthwhile the existing electric mill looks like it could be lost entirely until the next expansion, The final shapeit arrives sometime in 2024.
The game’s director, Joe Blackburn, showcased this and more at length 5,000 word blog post. He previewed both upcoming changes intended to simplify many of them Destiny 2its tedious and cumbersome systems, as well as a sci-fi MMO philosophy going forward. Bungie has lofty goals to ignite players’ imaginations and create DESTINY more social and wants to combat some of the recent feelings of player burnout by making the game more streamlined and less predictable. And also harder.
Starting with me Lightfall, the cooldown of abilities will last longer and enemies will hit harder. “While we don’t want the entire game to feel like it’s been cranked up to 11, we think these changes will help the enemy forces patrolling Neomuna feel dangerous and worthy of your attention,” Blackburn wrote. Furthermore, sounds like Destiny 2 it will move away from the power grind that has been at its core since the original game was released in 2014.
The cycle of building your total strength I slowly get up Taking endless copies of loot you already have will still be there at the start Lightfall, but the power limit will not increase in Deep’s next season. And by 2024, it could be gone entirely. “We believe there are some major issues with power in Destiny 2 and how it’s preventing players from seeing some of our best content, so we’d like to make a big change to the system in The final shape,” Blackburn wrote. Relief is visible, but still a long way off.

- Deepsight weapons only drop for patterns you don’t have yet
- More challenging Vanguard Ops playlist
- New Crucible Countdown, Countdown Rush and Checkmate Check modes
- Lake of Shadows and Arms Dealer strikes upgraded
- Battlegrounds missions have been added to the Nightfall rotation
Released in Season 21 (Season of the Deep) and later:
- A new Looking for Group (LFG) tool.
- Exotic armor has been added back to the main activity loot pools
- Exotic mission rotator to bring back Presage and other favorites
- Random weapon rolls can be improved just like crafted weapons
All these improvements and additions open the year Lightfall until it is much better than The witch queen, at least in terms of reducing swelling and renewed seasonality. At the same time, there are big questions about where big systems like crafting and features like Gambit will fit. DESTINY. However, much of what Bungie presented goes to the heart of addressing recent player criticisms of how the game feels very easy and repeatable last year.
“We want any player to read the name of something and immediately know what it’s doing. in short, to spend more time playing and less time trying to figure out what to do,” Blackburn wrote. Anyone who has ever played Destiny 2or try to find a friend too, he knows exactly what he’s talking about. As the last eight years have shownhowever, this is easier said than done.
