Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 has an official synopsis for digging.
Ahead of the release of the trilogy closer this spring, fans of the MCU’s oddest bunch of superheroes will have to brace themselves for a future without Bradley Cooper’s wisecracking Rocket Raccoon.
“Our beloved band of misfits settle into life in Knowhere, but it’s not long before their lives are turned upside down by echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past,” the synopsis begins.

“Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not successfully completed, could very well lead to at the end of the Guards as we know them. .”
This echoes earlier comments from director James Gunn, who shared when he returned from a brief shoot: “Rocket is me, it really is, even if that sounds narcissistic. I relate to Rocket and I feel compassion for Rocket, but I also feel like his story is not finished.
“[Rocket] it has an arc that started in the first movie, continued in the second, and goes through [Avengers] Infinity War and Game overand then I was ready to actually wrap up this arc Guardians 3. It was a great loss for me – not being able to finish this story.”

Yes or No Volume 3 really kills our wild mustachioed friend, actor Chris Pratt has promised that the film itself is a “true masterpiece”.
“It’s fantastic. James Gunn just attended a rough meeting the other day. I called him yesterday. We Facetimed, and he’s very, very proud of the work everyone’s done. He said it’s the best work we’ve ever done.” teased last summer.
