Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was “diagnosed with a sprained wrist ligament following an examination and will return once the pain subsides” following his brief All-Star appearance.
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly suffered a sprained ligament in his right wrist following further tests Monday.
Antetokounmpo is set to undergo treatment with the expectation that he will be able to return to the lineup once the pain and swelling subsides, according to multiple reports.
He initially suffered the wrist injury midway through Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bulls just before the All-Star break and did not return to the game after being injured.
After saying he would still participate in the All-Star Game, Antetokounmpo played the first possession with his wrist heavily bandaged before driving to the basket for a dunk on the game’s opening possession.
A timeout was called immediately after the basket allowing him to sit out and sit for the remainder of the game.
