New to Prime Video in March 2023: Top Gun: Maverick, The Power

March is just two weeks away — which means a whole bunch of new content is coming to Prime Video. Some of this content will be available on March 1st, while other shows and movies will be available a little later next month.

On March 24, Prime Video subscribers will be able to check out Top Gun: Maverick. The long-awaited sequel – which was just nominated for Best Picture, among other Oscar categories – takes place more than 30 years after the original, with Pete “Maverick” Mitchell training a group of graduates for a special mission, facing the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears. There has been a lot of well-deserved publicity surrounding the film, which was set to become the No. 1 global film of 2022 by Avatar: The Way of Water dethroned it. You can read Our review summary of the film here. In GameSpot reviewChris E. Hayner says Top Gun: Maverick “managed to achieve the seemingly impossible” by “following up a beloved film over three decades later…delivering a sequel that could stand the test of time just as well as the original” .

Also worth checking out is The Power, a sci-fi thriller coming to Prime Video on March 31. Based on Naomi Alderman’s 2016 novel of the same name, its synopsis reads: “The Force is our world, but for a reversal of nature. Suddenly, and without warning, teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people at will. The series features a cast of remarkable characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as Power evolves from a tingle on the teenage keys to a complete upheaval of the world’s balance of power.” Toni Collette, John Leguizamo and Toheeb Jimoh star in the series, which features an all-female writers room.

Below is a list of all the content coming to Prime Video in March. Here’s our rundown of Disney+ and Hulu next month.
