Another day, another kill! The 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards are just hours away — and viewers can count on fan-favorite stars to bring the heat.
If this year’s Grammys and Golden Globes are any indication of what to expect on tonight’s red carpet, fans should be prepared to see bare-bones dresses, shimmering gowns, statement hair and sleek suits.
The Sunday, February 26 concert will take place at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, starting at 8 p.m. ET. The ceremony will celebrate the best in television and film, including Michelle Yeoh For Everything Everywhere Simultaneously, Colin Farrell For The Banshees of Inisherin, Zendaya For Euphoria and Amanda Seyfried For The abandonment.
Yeoh, 60, picked up the award for best actor in a musical or comedy at the Golden Globes on Jan. 10. That night, Crazy rich Asians The star wowed in a shimmering blue strapless Armani Privé gown that featured a modern draped waist. When she took the stage to accept the award, Yeoh dazzled audience members with her ensemble and moved them with her words. “It’s been an amazing journey and an incredible struggle to be here today, but I think it’s worth it,” he said.
The Malaysian native further opened up about her career journey, saying, “When I first came to Hollywood, it was a dream come true… until I got here. I came here and they said ‘You’re a minority’ and they said ‘No, that’s not possible’. As time went on, I turned 60 last year and I think all you women understand as the days, the years, the numbers grow, the opportunities grow smaller… Then came the best gift: Everything everywhere at once.”
Tonight, Yeoh is an opponent Cate Blanchett (Tar), Viola Davis (The Female King), Ana de Armas (Blonde) and Danielle Deadwyler (Up to) in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor category.
In addition to Yeoh’s nod at the 2023 SAGs, the film garnered a total of five nominations from SAG-AFTRA members, including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
Other contenders for 2023 include; Austin Butler who is up for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for Elvis Presley’s portrayal of Elvis. He was nominated alongside Farrell, 46, Brendan Fraser(The whale), Bill Nye (Zoe) and Adam Sandler (Study).
