Welcome to your weekly roundup of the biggest stories from Netflix’s Top 10 Hourly Drops for the week ending February 26, 2023. This will be the most recent edition of the Top 10 Report since there have been so many big releases and exciting things for discussion.

Every Tuesday, Netflix updates its top 10 statistics page with 40 new hourly figures of the top movies and shows from the past seven days. If you want to easily browse the top 10 hourly data, visit our tool.

Note: In this report of Netflix viewing hours from February 20, 2023 to February 26, 2023, we will use “Complete Viewing Equivalent” or CVE, expressed in millions. This means that we divide the viewing hours announced by Netflix by the running time of the movies or series. It allows for better comparisons between movies and series, but is not an audience metric. It is the minimum number of views if they were all full from the first second to the last of the movie or season.

1. Foreign Banks Season 3 is off to a fast start.

Its third season Foreign Banks doing great, thank you very much. With 17.7 million CVEs in its first four days, it’s the third-best launch for a new season of an American show that launched on Thursday at the end of its second season Ginny & Georgia.

2. We have a ghost and The Strays makes very decent launches.

We have a ghost was the main title from Netflix on the film side last week and its release is quite good, with 19.1 million CVE in its opening weekend.

Not a top tier movie, but not a top tier movie from the Netflix series as a B-tier movie, it made a better release than A Madea Homecoming and The Curse of Bridge Hollow.

Hailing from the UK, a tense thriller The Strays also made a perfect start with CVE 17.8 million in the first five days and the second best launch for an English-language international film released on a Wednesday.

3. Murdaugh Murders makes a killer start.

Netflix documentary series usually tend to have a timely release schedule, but not as timely as the release of Murdaugh Murders, since the trial of this case is currently happening in the US.

True crime documentary series plus a timely release date equals a record release Murdaugh Murders. With 17 million CVEs in its first five days, it is the best launch for any documentary series released in a Wednesday.

4. Season 5 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive attracts his fans

Season 5 of the documentary series Formula 1: Drive to Survive released last week and did exactly the same numbers as last season, with 4M CVE in its first weekend.

5. Triptych Caught fire.

Its first season Triptych I had a great launch with 9 million CVE in the first five days, the best launch for a new Latin American series in my book, not far off the best launch for an international series released on Wednesday (10.5 million for the Polish High water series). So a very encouraging start!

Overall, it was a pretty good week for new Netflix movies and series, with plenty of decent numbers.
