The January transfer window may be closed across Europe, but clubs are looking ahead to the summer and there is plenty of gossip swirling. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and of course, done deals!
TOP STORY: Alvarez weighing up Man City exit?
Julian Alvarez is preparing to ask Manchester City to leave the club in the summer, according to El Chiringuito TV.
Pep Guardiola’s side have recently tried to sign the 23-year-old striker to a new contract, but with little guarantee of regular starting minutes ahead of Erling Haaland – who has scored 33 goals in all competitions this season – it looks as though Alvarez is now open to possible exits.
With the Argentina international already on the table to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium due to a wage issue, as Fabrizio Romano pointed out, the Premier League champions appear to be struggling to convince him amid interest from Europe.
TyC Sports reporter Cesar Luis Merlo reported on Sunday that Barcelona, among other clubs from across Europe, had inquired about his services and that more interest could emerge the longer the contract impasse continues.
Alvarez has made 19 Premier League appearances this season, but with the majority of those coming from the bench, he has amassed just 707 minutes of action in them.
