WWE announces date and location for SummerSlam 2023

WWE has announced the date and location of this year’s SummerSlam event.

SummerSlam will take place on Saturday, August 5th from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. This is the first time the event has occurred in Michigan since 1993.

In a statement, Dan Ventrelle, Executive Vice President of Talent at WWE said: “We are thrilled that Ford Field will host WWE’s biggest event of the summer and look forward to the WWE Universe converging on Detroit to celebrate the long-awaited return of SummerSlam in Michigan. .”

“Metro Detroit enjoys a special place in WWE history and has produced many iconic moments. We thank the entire WWE family for entrusting us with this incredible opportunity and look forward to delivering a world-class experience.”

For fans in the UK, Detroit might be a bit far – but, thankfully, Money in the Bank will be much closer to home.

In January, it was announced that Money in the Bank 2023 would take place at London’s O2 on Saturday 1 July.

The Money in the Bank happening in London comes after WWE hosted Clash at the Castle at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff last September. It will also be the first WWE Premium Live Event to take place in London since SummerSlam in 1992, which took place at Wembley Stadium.
